Simple ChatGPT Canvas Hacks for Easier Writing
Here are some tips on how to use the new Canvas feature in ChatGPT.
I have recently written about a new feature in ChatGPT.
It is called Canvas, and it is here to make working with this AI tool easier.
How much easier, you asked?
Let me share some great ways to use Canvas.
Writing Emails is Simple Now
Let's face it, writing emails for business or personal purposes can be complicated.
Especially, when you want them to have a certain tone.
I’m talking about struggling between being too formal or too casual.
With the Canvas feature, now ChatGPT allows you to find the tone.
For example, let’s say you want to email someone you admire or someone who runs a podcast you want to be on.
You can ask ChatGPT to look up their details and then help write a perfect message that’s personal, not boring, and polite.
Why this works: You get all the right facts about the person and can include details that make the email feel more personal.
This is powerful.
You can now stand out from the endless crowd of emails in their inbox.
It’s like you’re talking to the person, not just sending a boring message.
Plus, you can get Canvas to adjust the tone or length of the email. Shorter or longer? Professional or casual?
You can pick!

Make Blog Posts Less Stressful
Blog posts can feel like a big mountain to climb, especially if writing isn’t your strongest skill.
So, the question is what can ChatGPT Canvas do?
Let’s say you need to write a blog post on something you know a bit about, but you don’t feel like you know enough to write 500 words or more.
Start by giving ChatGPT the topic you want to write about. Ask it to look up some information, and then help you lay it out in sections.
After you have the article, use the Canvas feature to add headings, and bullet points, and even suggest SEO keywords (those are words that make it easier for people to find your article).
This real-time editing is incredibly useful.
Anyone who has ever written an article knows this.
Why this works: Sometimes, it’s hard to know where to start, but Canvas can help break it down into smaller parts. You can ask it to research for you, so you don’t have to dig through the internet yourself.
Add a Visual Touch
Break the wall of the text.
This is the one piece of advice every successful writer gives to help people read your articles.
You know, sometimes, a wall of text can be too much for people to read.
You might lose their attention halfway through your blog post or email.
Adding visuals, like tables or lists, can help break things up and make your message clearer.
So, once you have your article, use Canvas to make a simple table for you!
Maybe you’re explaining steps, like how to do something step-by-step. Instead of writing a long paragraph, use this feature to put it in a table where one column shows the step and the other gives a short description.
Why this works: It makes things easier to read. People love to scan text, and if they see a table, they can quickly get the information they need without reading every word.
It’s faster and more helpful for everyone.
Short Summaries
Have you ever had to write something long, but then someone asks for just a short summary?
It can be hard to figure out what to leave out and what to keep.
But the Canvas feature can help here too.
When you’re done with your email, blog post, or anything else, ask ChatGPT Canvas to create a summary.
You can even tell it how long you want the summary to be. For example, ask for just 3 sentences to explain the main point.
Why this works: Sometimes people don’t have time to read everything you wrote, but they still want the main idea. A summary lets them know what’s most important without taking up too much of their time.
FAQs Made Easy
If you run a website, shop, or even a social media account, you know how people ask the same questions over and over.
Wouldn’t it be easier to have all the answers in one place?
Why not use Canvas to help you make a list of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)?
Tell it to give short, easy-to-read answers to each question.
It’s super helpful because you can set the reading level. I usually ask for answers written at a “middle school” level, which is just enough to be clear without being too simple.
Why this works: Your audience won’t have to guess or wonder. They’ll see you’ve taken the time to answer their questions in a way that’s easy to understand.
Plus, it can save you a lot of time.
Instead of answering the same questions over and over, just point people to your FAQ.
I believe, that the ChatGPT Canvas is a step in the right direction. At least, if we talking about how to work with this AI tool.
It is changing the way you write, work, and communicate.
And what I like even more, you don’t need to be an expert in writing to get great results.
You just need to ask the right questions and play around with the tools.
Best,
